大卫·牛顿博士.D.

David Newton is a professor at the University of West Georgia and a member of the teaching and research faculty in the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies within 大学学院. He also serves as Senior Fellow for Student Success in the Office of the Provost where he works with faculty and staff from across campus on 博彩平台推荐's student success projects and initiatives. Dr. Newton earned his degrees from the College of Charleston (B.A., English), the Candler School of Theology (M.Div., Historical Theology), and Emory University (Ph.D.、语言学). At the undergraduate and graduate levels, he has taught courses in linguistics, research & methods, and literary studies. 在博彩平台推荐, he also has served in leadership roles as a program director, 系主任, 迪安, and associate vice-president for academic affairs. His scholarship has focused on linguistics—with an emphasis on language variation in the United States—and on the language and culture of the American South. His current research focuses on the development of experiential learning opportunities for college students.
